Gioia Sails North publishes a catalogue of cruising sails, laminated Dacron panels, and rigging accessories intended for coastal sailing in Malaysian waters, the Strait of Malacca, and the Andaman Sea. The site provides technical specifications, fabric details, and trim recommendations. It does not provide legal, survey, or insurance advice, and it does not guarantee that any sail will perform identically on every vessel.
You are responsible for confirming that a sail or accessory matches your boat's mast, boom, furling gear, and reefing system before ordering. You should also verify local navigation rules and carry the safety equipment required for your planned route. We rely on the measurements and details you provide, so inaccurate information may affect fit and performance.
Each catalogue entry lists fabric type, reinforcements, stitching, and hardware as supplied by the manufacturer. Weights, wind ranges, and trim notes are based on typical cruising conditions and are meant as guidance, not as a performance guarantee. UV resistance and durability figures assume normal use, proper storage, and routine maintenance in a tropical climate.
Orders are confirmed only after we receive the required boat details and agree on the final specification. Delivery times depend on fabric availability, workshop schedule, and shipping routes to Sabah or other ports. We will tell you the expected lead time before you commit, and we will notify you if the schedule changes.
If a sail arrives with a manufacturing defect, contact us within fourteen days of delivery with photos and a short description. We will assess the issue and arrange a repair or replacement according to the warranty terms. Damage caused by misuse, incorrect installation, or normal wear is not covered by the warranty.
To the extent permitted by law, Gioia Sails North is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including missed passages, charter costs, or injury, arising from the use of the catalogue or the equipment described. Our total liability for any claim related to a product is limited to the amount paid for that product.
We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes in our catalogue, workshop practice, or applicable regulations. The current version will always be published on this page. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
