Guided Setup Option
The Guided Setup Option is for owners who want their new sail fitted and tuned without spending a full day at the dock. We handle the parts that usually cause the most confusion: track alignment, halyard tension, and the first reefing test. You stay involved, but you do not need to guess the settings.
This option works best when you are replacing a worn jib or mainsail on a boat with a standard mast and boom. Before we start, we check the luff length, the clew position, and the condition of your existing hardware. If something does not match the sail plan, we tell you before any cutting or splicing begins.
The session covers the practical decisions that come up during any rig change:
- Setting the correct halyard tension for the local wind range, from light morning airs to afternoon squalls in the Andaman Sea.
- Adjusting the sheet leads so the sail twists properly when you are close-hauled or reaching.
- Checking the furling line and swivel for smooth operation with the new luff tape.
- Testing the reefing points with the boom vang released, so you know the sail will stow cleanly.
We keep the session to a single visit, usually three to four hours alongside the dock. You bring the boat, we bring the tools and the checklist. By the end, you have a sail that is ready for a weekend passage, not just a sail that looks good in the bag.
If you are unsure whether your mast track or furling gear matches the sail you have in mind, send us the measurements before booking. We can confirm compatibility over the phone or by email, so the setup day stays focused on tuning, not on surprises.
